  • What kind of questions do customers ask you?
  • What is the best finish in the market? Most of the industrial finishes are very good. There are oil base finishes, and there are water base finishes. Oil base finishes have been around for many years. So that alone has lots to say about the quality of it. Nevertheless water bone finishes are quite green, but the technology are much better. Even do the water base finishes seem thinner on 3 coats, the durability of it its much longer. There is also a Finish that I consider the best made by bona chemi That is probably the best out there. Cost is $119- 125 per gallon
  • What is important to know about your profession?
  • That I am very knowledgeable about my job. Because of my background apprenticeship schooling of 4 years that i did as a requirement to be in the union in California. The amount of time that I have under my belt in the field, I have been in the field for 26 years. My grand father was a teacher of carving in the University in Venezuela as well as my father.
  • How many projects do you average in a year?
  • about 60 or 70 of each individual jobs. Depends on the specific size and what it is involved in each jobs. We have just come back from the Denver, after working in the Lakewood Mills outlet. Big project, 3400 sq. ft of flooring to sand and apply 3 coats of water base finish. It was a big challenge... but the contractor said we did an awesome job, above industry standards. We give God the glory
  • What types of jobs are the most common?
  • Install sand and finish. This means no stain on the floor, 3 coats of poly will give you that longer life in your floors. You actually don't do the wear and tear on the wood itself but on the surface of the floors. Which means that you got to keep an eye on the finish making sure bear wood it will not get damage
  • How did you get started?
  • Well I went to schooling back went I was 19 years old in the East coast. I was there schooling for about 1 year and then travel to Norther California to finish up my hardwood floor schooling. After that we open a shop in the San Jose area with very much success. We were working subbing work for one of the top notch stores in the San Jose Area, Finer Floors.
  • What are you most proud of?
  • Well it all started when a gentlemen by the name of Rob at the gym asked me what I did for a living... after a while of conversation with him I find out he is in a tuff place with one of his clients, so he hire us to help him with the problem... Then he hire us to do work at his house, then one of his neighbors looked at his work and they hired us, and so on and so forth, its been since the beginning of summers and we are still working in the same neighborhood and got more work on schedule.   • What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
  • How long does a job like this will last? well on a sand stain and finish normally will be a total of 4 days. One day to sand and stain, and 3 more days for coats. Depending on the size of the job of course and what is involved. Right now we are sanding a dark stain floor and it has taken about 4 days to stain, but it is 1200 sq ft of flooring and the homeowner wants a dark stain. By the way she is very happy.
  • What certifications/licenses do you have?
  • We just got the award that shows here in this page by the Colorado Springs award program committee. The Better Business was trying to get a hold of me in regards to this award. I thought we were in some kind of trouble, and I was avoiding them. Finally some one call me and said that we in deed had won this award.
  • What brands do you work with?
  • Nothing but the best out there. In regards to floors finishes we use only BONA products. In regards to using painting brands Sherwing William products. We stress on using nothing but the best in order that when we are done with the jobs we can walk away and know that the job finish will last. While we are using the best of finishes then we can walk away at peace.
  • What are you specialized in?
  • Custom or regular installation of Hardwood Floors, Sand and finish using water or oil base finish. DCS equipment provided during entire job experience for over 27 years. We also specialize in dark stain colors. Lots of floor companies have these younger crowd that they despise doing the scraping and hand sanding that is very important for the quality of a dark stain job. We don't cut corner.
  • Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
  • We have a cleaning crew show up at the house to help homeowner go back to normal leaving. We continue to stand behind our work for as long as the homeowner owns their home. As we start the jobs we hang plastic through and create like a sealed curtain with the intention of containing the dust to the max. Also using our dust containing system adding into the fact to minimize the dust factor in the work area.
  • What we may not know about you?
  • Everyone does there work in a different way. I have been open minded to try to learn other ways that people work. My ways are not necessarily better than the rest of the guys out there, but for sure there is always something new to learn. My business is made of God, my wife and my workers in general. The most important is God
  • What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
  • I like to suggest to people to call for references. Of course pricing of the total job, what is included in that price. I always suggest to my customers to allow me to apply 3 coats of finish. This way the floor have more life. Keeping in touch with the customer to make sure the floor is doing good wear and tear.
  • How can we save money hiring you?
  • I am all about saving and watching out for costumers money, when it comes down to costumers buying materials, we make our money on the labor only, we do not add any monies on materials that costumers needed. We want costumers to be able to get better quality materials at no additional cost. We pride ourselves in our workmanship, and that is where we make the differences between other shops and ours.
